It is with very mixed feelings that we announce the impending departure of our Senior Project Worker, Holly Andrews.
Holly has been will us for the last four years and has progressed from Kitchen Volunteer to being an integral part of the team at Canterbury Open Centre. She has had a key role in the development of our services since we reopened as a day centre in November 2009 and we have had the pleasure of seeing her develop into the practitioner that she is .
She is leaving to take up a place on the Mental Health Nursing degree course at Canterbury Christchurch University; there, we have no doubts, she will continue to thrive and develop. The staff, volunteers and trustees wish her well in her studies and her new career.
Her role at CatchingLives is being taken over by Kate Menzies. Kate joined us at the beginning of June to ensure at thorough handover with Holly. Kate is a graduate of the University of Kent (Canterbury) and comes to us from a commercial background. She also has experience as a youth worker and as a volunteer with Victim Support and East Kent Rapeline.
Kate has already demonstrated an aptitude for the work and shown the dedication, intelligence and empathy that the role requires. We know that we made the right choice in offering her the job.
