Part-time; CatchingLives’ Canterbury Community Shelter
Hours: 26 hours per week over 2 nights (£9.40 per hour)
Contract type: Fixed term 3 months

Closing date for applications: Midday on Friday 27th October 2017
CatchingLives are seeking to employ three Project Workers to help run the Canterbury Community Shelter. This is a rolling night shelter that houses the rough sleepers of Canterbury during the winter months. It is a varied, challenging and rewarding job that involves being responsible for the smooth running of the overnight shifts at each of the Church venues, where our clients will be sleeping. You will be in charge of a small team of volunteers and working with vulnerable adults (which include those with mental health and substance misuse issues). Experience with the client group is preferred but not essential, as training will be given. The post is subject to Enhanced DBS checks.
We are also seeking staff to work at Canterbury Open Centre overseeing the evening shifts at Canterbury Open Centre. This involves overseeing the clients and their transfer to that evenings shelter venue. The normal hours for these shifts are 4.30pm until 8pm.
For more information please telephone 01227 464904 and ask for Terry Gore, or send a CV and a covering email, detailing why you think would be suitable for the role, clearly headed ‘CCS Application’ to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The closing date for applications is Friday 27th October 2017 and interviews will be taking place on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th November 2017.
The shelter opens on Thursday 1st December but, if successful, you will be expected to attend induction and training before that date (for which you will be paid).
