We are delighted to announce that the artist Catman, who created the urban art on the side of our centre, has donated his original design piece ‘Pigs Might Fly’ to us in order for it to be auctioned. All money raised through this auction will go towards supporting the local homeless and vulnerably housed individuals in the Canterbury area.
The artwork appeared mysteriously overnight on the 7th April and the next morning sparked a debate as to who was responsible for this wonderful work.
Catman lives in Whitstable and has produced many pieces of urban art that can be found around the town. He has also hinted that new pieces of work may be appearing in Whitstable and Canterbury in the near future!
In the week since the artwork appearing we have had many people stop to take a photo, and some have even kindly knocked on the door to make a donation.
The artwork being auctioned is on a 90cm X 60cm piece of marine plywood and was the original from which Catman based his mural.
It will be sold through a sealed auction which will close on Thursday 23rd of April at 12 midday.
