The Rotary Club of Canterbury Sunrise is looking for participants to join this year’s Sleepout Challenge.
They will be asking 50 influential leaders and other VIPs to join them to sleep overnight within the Cathedral precincts, to emulate those sleeping rough, by building their own simple cardboard and plastic shelter to sleep in (all materials will be provided). Participants will need to provide their own sleeping equipment such as sleeping bag and inflatable mattress. Soup, cheese rolls, tea and coffee will be provided in the evening and participants will wake up to bacon and egg rolls, tea and coffee. There will still be an open gazebo area as there’s not enough room for everyone to sleep in their own shelter.
They are also inviting members of the public to sponsor participants, and if they don’t know any participants, people can also make a general donation via Just Giving, found here
100% of the donations through JustGiving will be split between Catching Lives and Porchlight.
