The annual Kent RaG Jailbreak takes place on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th of February and 3 University of Kent students will be taking part to raise money for us. The aim of Jailbreak is to get as far away from the University of Kent in 36 hours and you have to do this for free, by any means you can. In previous years students have made it as far as Geneva and Athens.
Kethan Reddy, Nick Daniels and Harry Rudolph will be amongst those taking part and they decided they would like to use the event as an opportunity to support the work that we do in Canterbury. Kethan said
“As first year students, living somewhere new can be challenging, but Canterbury’s buzzing high street, great people and welcoming atmosphere made our first term so much easier. So, when we signed up for Jailbreak, we knew we wanted to choose a local charity, Catching Lives, that supports people in and around Canterbury. The success of our ‘Jailbreak’ will depend on the generosity of others, and we hope that their generosity will allow Catching Lives to continue their work tackling homelessness in Canterbury.”
Kethan, Nick and Harry will be spending this week preparing for their attempt and if you would like to support or sponsor them please see the links below; to their JustGiving and their Twitter account.
