The White Horse Inn in Boughton-under-Blean, recently raised £250 through a silent auction. The auction was for a Christmas hamper, a meal at the White Horse, cupcakes and champagne.
Tara Birks, for the White Horse Inn said,“We decided to support Catchinglives during the recent cold snap because we were aware of a lot of people coming out to support the homeless in Canterbury, giving out food and care packages, and it made us acutely aware that despite the fact there are more homeless people in Canterbury and East Kent than ever before, council/ government support has been reduced, not just here but across the country. So to help fill that gap we decided to offer the funds raised to Catching lives. In the end there were five main donors to our silent auction, who each contributed £50”.
Terry Gore, Catchinglives’ General Manager, welcomed the donation; “We are very grateful to Tara and the staff and customers of the White Horse Inn, for their fundraising efforts. We would not be able to operate our services without the support of our local community. All charities are struggling for resources and we really appreciate all of the fundraising efforts done on our behalf”
