The schedule for our next round of free training is below. Feel free to forward this to anyone you think might be interested, but please note the following:
This training is free but we have had an issue with people booking the training, but not attending (without any notice). Please be aware that anyone who books a place but cancels with less than 48 hours notice will be sent an invoice for £20 (per person) to cover some of our costs.
Substance Misuse Awareness Training – Tuesday 7th April 2020 9am – 4.30pm
Mental Health Awareness Training – Wednesday 15 th April 2020 9am – 4.30pm
Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults/Boundaries/De-Escalation Skills – Tuesday 21st April 2020 9am – 1.30pm
Equality, Diversity and Unconscious Bias – Tuesday 21st April 2020 2.00pm – 4.30pm
An Introduction to Counselling Skills – Tuesday 28th April 2pm – 5.30pm
Combined Training Day
(A condensed course that includes elements of Substance Misuse and Mental Health Awareness, De-escalation, Boundaries and Safeguarding)
Saturday 25th April 2020 9am – 5pm (Please Note: If you have attended the other training days, you should not attend this one)
NEW: Introduction to Homelessness
Tuesday 2nd June 2020 9am – 5pm
This training will include the following:
Why and how people become homeless
Various definitions of homelessness
Government policy on ending homelessness
Local authorities’ responsibilities to people who are homeless
The homelessness sector’s responses to ending and preventing homelessness
Current challenges to ending and preventing homelessness
All of the training is free and takes place at our daycentre (Canterbury Open Centre, Station Road East, Canterbury, Kent CT1 2RB).
