There will be a collection for Catching Lives at the Canterbury Singers’ Carols by Candelight on Saturday 20 December.

The choir will be singing some lesser known carols - old and new - and there will be the chance to join in with some more familiar ones too. Refreshments will also be available.

Carols by Candelight by the Canterbury Singers will take place at St Mildred’s Church, Church Lane, Canterbury at 3pm. The nearest car park is Castle Street. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children with a retiring collection for Catching Lives.

The Canterbury Singers, a small friendly choir with people from all walks of life, are looking for new tenors, basses, altos and sopranos.

They sing a range of music from modern to medieval, religious and secular. Whether you're an experienced singer, a bit rusty or feeling unsure and a bit nervous, they’re urging people to get in touch for a chat and come to a rehearsal.

The choir meets most Tuesday evenings during term time in Canterbury town centre and organisers said they would love to welcome new members.
