How you can help

Volunteering

Each year we rely on volunteers to delivery additional winter services. For information about year-round opportunities see our Volunteering page.

Fundraising

We rely on public donations all year round, so that we’re ready to extend our services when winter comes. To make a gift or set up a regular donation, visit our Donations page.

Extended Winter Provision

Additional Support

We connect people sleeping rough with the council’s Severe Weather Emergency Provision (SWEP) during freezing weather. For people still on the streets, we try to provide warm clothing, sleeping bags and tents.

Access

People can attend our day centre for support and a safe space off the streets during the day, 9am-2pm. We will help to refer on to housing providers. When Canterbury Community Shelter opens in December, people need to come to our day centre in order to be assessed for an emergency space (there will be no direct access in the evening).

Working with us

We work closely with partner agencies throughout the year but especially in winter. This includes Canterbury City Council's rough sleeping and housing teams.
