We're celebrating Board members, old and new, this Trustees' Week

Trustees' Week 2025 (3-7 November) is a celebration of the essential, yet often unsung, volunteers across the charity sector who have a legal responsibility for the organisations they serve, ensuring that their charity is legally compliant, financially sound and focused on its mission.

We’re pleased to announce that Catching Lives will be appointing 8 new trustees to its Board between November and May. The level of interest in our recent recruitment was really exciting, and we’d like to thank all the applicants who made it such a competitive process - it was no easy task to narrow down the field. We'll introduce our new trustees soon!

This month we’re saying goodbye to two of our amazing and long-serving trustees. Vice Chair Jason Hanford was first appointed as a trustee in 2017 and has seen the charity through many ups and downs, with his term as Chair taking us through the covid pandemic. Current Chair Matt Reed steps down, having served as a trustee since 2022 and Chair for the last three years, all while being a regular Sunday kitchen volunteer. Matt’s achievements have included supporting our first CEO and overseeing significant improvements to our building – not to mention many delicious meals, including last year’s Christmas lunch.

We’re hugely grateful to Jason and Matt for their time and commitment, and the positive impact they’ve had by ensuring that Catching Lives continues to be here for people in our community experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Recruitment of our new Chair is continuing via Reach Volunteering, and one of our current trustees will be the interim Chair until we complete the search. Matt and Jason will formally stand down, and the first group of new trustees will be appointed, at the Catching Lives AGM on Wednesday 19 November. Book your place here.
