Catching Lives client Joni Lee is exhibiting his artwork at Beach Creative in Herne Bay.
Joni has progressed from regularly taking part in art activities at Catching Lives to a 10-week creative course at Beach Creative and has an interview coming up for a BA in Fine Art at UCA.
Joni said: “The pictures I am exhibiting at Beach Creative are the result of experimenting with acrylic pouring last summer.
“Previously, while living in Spain, I was into wood carving but since being back in the UK I have been exploring various creative practices both at Catching Lives and on the Cultural Ambassadors course at Beach Creative.
“Catching Lives have supported me with my transition from homelessness to living in my own flat. The creative workshops offered at the centre have allowed me to develop my creative practice and I was encouraged to attend the course in Herne Bay and apply for university.”
Miriam Ellis, Arts and Activities Co-ordinator at Catching Lives has encouraged Joni with his artistic talents and supported in applying to both courses.
She said: “It has been great to see Joni grow in confidence through doing the activities at the centre.
“Do go along and support Joni’s exhibition if you can. Everyone at Catching Lives wishes Joni all the best with his interview for a Fine Arts degree.”
Joni is part of a joint exhibition at Beach Creative CIC, Beach House, Beach Street, Herne Bay, CT6 5PT until Thursday, February 22.
