Here at Catching Lives, we are very fortunate to be supported by our wonderful community, helping us to deliver our services all year round.
From local schools and churches who donate vital food supplies at Harvest, to community groups hosting fundraisers to raise money for Catching Lives, we are very grateful, and couldn't continue our work without your support!
So far in 2026, our community have gone above and beyond with some fantastic fundraising activities. Here are just a few highlights:
Catching Lives Bookshop Volunteers' Sponsored Walk
Back in May, a group of volunteers from our second-hand bookshop at the Crooked House organised a sponsored walk of the Crab and Winkle Way. They walked in very hot conditions as a team and raised an incredible £1,000, which was doubled in our Small Charity Week campaign!
We are so lucky to have such a wonderful team of supportive volunteers - thank you to everyone who took part to make the day a success, and a special thanks to Clare for organising!
Old Wives Lees and Wye Village Choir Summer Concert
Our friends at the OWL and Wye Choirs held their annual summer concert in June to raise money for Catching Lives, raising £555 on the day!
We are very grateful for the ongoing support from the Wye and OWL village communities.
East Kent Spurs
We are delighted to be one of East Kent Spurs' chosen causes being supported by their fundraising activity throughout 2026. Despite only being established for 2 years, this group of supporters has already raised over £50,000 for their chosen charities!
In June 2026, they took on the Three Peaks Challenge and a 72-hole golf challenge to raise money for their causes, with more events planned throughout the year.
Handel's Messiah Community Performance
Last winter, Dinyar Cooper organised a community workshop and performance of Handel's Messiah to fundraise for Catching Lives, and raised over £5,000!
Last year's event was such a success that it is returning this November in Cranbrook. If you are interested in being part of the choir, or buying tickets to come and see this fantastic event, you can read more here.
