The Catching Lives Day Centre is open seven days a week, 365 days of the year including Christmas Day.
On 25 December, a team of volunteers and staff will be serving Christmas dinner to our clients as well as giving out gifts as part of the festivities.
If you’d like to support people who are homeless by donating treats and gifts, here’s how to help.
Here is a list of things our clients have mentioned would be most useful. All donations are always extremely appreciated.
Festive sweets and treats (e.g. chocolates, biscuits, nuts)
Toiletry gift sets
Power packs
Waterproof rucksack covers
Hats, scarves and gloves
Thick socks
Acrylic paints and paintbrushes
Small sketchbooks
Water bottles / insulated flasks
Nail clippers
Hair clippers
Torches
Batteries / phone chargers
Please note we cannot accept donations of alcohol.
Please bring donations into our centre in Station Road East any day between 9am and 4pm (until 1.30pm Wednesdays). Please do not wrap Christmas gifts, as we will create a gift bag and care packages for each person.
Gift vouchers
We use gift vouchers to buy items for our clients who might have moved into homes and need basic essentials to maintain their accommodation (e.g. bedding, cutlery)e.g. Tesco, Asda, The Range, Argos, Dunelm Mill
For more information about Christmas donations, or to inform us about a planned collection, please contact georgia@catchinglives.org
If you would prefer to donate financially, then we are running a winter campaign via JustGiving.
Thank you for your continued support.
