Catching Lives has been awarded a grant from the Government’s Ending Homelessness in Communities Fund (EHCF).
This funding contributes to the 7-day support offered in our Canterbury day centre and creates additional capacity to help people sleeping rough long term, survivors of domestic abuse, and people moving from homelessness into housing. Delivered in partnership with local domestic abuse charity Rising Sun, our EHCF-funded work will prevent or end homelessness for more people through both day centre and community engagement.
Tasmin Maitland, CEO of Catching Lives, said: “We’re delighted to secure this funding, which recognises the importance of Catching Lives’ daily work with people who are homeless or insecurely housed, as well as creating opportunities for us to do more. Partnerships and the support of our community will continue to be vital to the difference we make through this work.”
Fran Ellis, CEO of Rising Sun, said: "At Rising Sun, we recognise that domestic abuse and homelessness are often deeply connected, creating significant barriers to safety, recovery and independence. By strengthening our partnership with Catching Lives, we can build on our shared commitment to ensuring that survivors experiencing homelessness receive the support, compassion and practical help they need. Together, we are creating more opportunities for people to access safe accommodation, specialist domestic abuse support and pathways towards a safer future."
